Yestertime Woodworks is a family owned and operated company that has been professionally serving Tucson, Arizona, and the surrounding communities for over three years now. We’ve only just recently stepped into the 21st century and added the website. With over 20 years of woodworking experience building cabinets, furniture and shadow boxes, it is our belief that no one can match our artistic expression and quality.
The owner of Yestertime Woodworks is Tim Becker who is originally from Arkansas and joined the Air Force in 1982. His military assignments include far-away lands such as Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and England. His first 10 years in the Air Force, Tim was a jet engine mechanic and worked on various military aircraft until 1992, at which time he choose a different career path and became an air traffic controller.
Additionally he was stationed at numerous stateside bases as well and ultimately Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona. In 2006, Tim retired from active duty service with a distinguished 24 year career and decided to make Vail Arizona his home.
While Tim spent 24 years of active duty serving his country, he always kept his passion for woodworking alive by creating many pieces in his spare time. Tim would research wood working techniques and materials where ever he would go thus increasing his knowledge base on this art form. Tim is very passionate about his craft and seeks to share his work with others. One of his greatest influences is Gustav Stickley; a well known spokesman for the arts and crafts movement and an inspiration for much of what he builds. Stickley is best known today for his straightforward design furniture, sometimes called mission or craftsman style furniture. |
